Decorating for Autumn…
Do you decorate for Autumn? Whilst we are spending more time at home, I have been busy making the house inviting & happy. Decorating for the seasons has helped change the scene. Here’s my quick & simple Autumn Table Centre:
3 White Pumpkins
2 Green Pumpkins
Assorted Pillar Candles
1 Glass Vase
2 Heathers in Terracotta Pots
I find a table runner helps tie a look together. I have a macrame runner but a linen runner would work just aswell. Place a few Beech branches in the glass vase. I used preserved Beech which will last, but any dry branch will work, as it will dry in situ. I also placed a few smaller stems on the runner. The heathers I placed either side of the vase, scattered the pumpkins at the ends & dotted candles in between. A simple, hassle free decoration. TOP TIP: to keep Pumpkins fresh, scrub in hot water with a dash of bleach. It’s the bacteria on the skin which starts the rotting process, so keep as clean as possible & they should stay fresh longer!
I am also adding Dried Flowers to the house.
Try & dry your own – Find a dark, dry area with good circulation, such as an attic or unused wardrobe. Tie flower stems to a hanger so that they hang upside down to dry. Leave flowers for two to three weeks until completely dry. Stems shrink as they dry so elastic bands often work better than string.
Or buy one – we have this fabulous Hydrangea Wreath available online. The colours are stunning!
